Chris began his career as an Athletic Trainer in both high school and college. While in college, he attended EMT school and liked it so much that he advanced to becoming a paramedic. After 18 years, he left EMS Service in 1997, to become a a manager at Poudre Valley Hospital Ambulance Service. While at the hospital, Chris helped them to win a Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award. He then was appointed to the National Board of Examiners for the award helping to evaluate applicants for the award for several years thereafter.

Chris became a Physician Assistant in 1999. He completed his training at the University of Utah PA Program in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he trained with some of the national leaders in pain medicine. Chris is also known to be a national leader in pain medicine, and has been a consultant to many national pharmaceutical and device companies. He is also a  sought-out lecturer on pain management topics. He is the founder and current President of the PAs in Pain Medicine Special Interest Group of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He is also a founding board member of the Pain Management Academy of Advanced Practice Providers, which is a national organization for APPs treating pain in any setting.

He has also spent 10 years doing spine surgery, Regenerative medicine, and osteoporosis management. Chris is actively involved and teaches at many national pain conferences. He is also a legal expert review and is a dedicated lifelong learner committed to growing his knowledge. In his free time, he enjoys listening to his 4,000 CD’s on his surround sound system, and enjoys attending concerts and traveling with his wife Renee, and his kids, and grandkids.
