TENS/NMES Fitting
Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) are devices that transmit an electrical pulse that mimics the actions of the central nervous system. The stimulation is transmitted through electrodes that adhere to the skin over selected muscle groups, causing the muscles to contract as a form of therapy. TENS/NMES therapy can be used to prevent muscle atrophy, reduce spasticity, and increase range of motion.
