Your therapy may include the use of heat/cold therapy, electrical stimulation modalities, taping techniques, or mechanical traction.
Heat/cold therapy is utilized to promote or restrict blood flow, optimize fluid dynamics, interrupt pain signaling, allow for tissue relaxation, and improve your body’s response to the therapeutic interventions provided.
Electrical Stimulation (E-Stim) utilizes devices that transmit an electrical impulse through electrodes on the skin that mimics the actions of your central nervous system. The primary indications for E-Stim therapy are normalizing muscle activation and/or decreasing pain. E-stim may be delivered via Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) or Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) techniques.
Taping techniques are utilized to provide postural support or to improve kinesthetic awareness, your body’s own awareness of, and response to, movement. We have providers trained in the use of Kinesiology Tape (KT tape) to address impairments in posture or movement patterns.
Mechanical Traction is a non-invasive procedure for relieving lower back, leg, neck, and arm pain. Gentle traction force reduces the pressure on discs, improving circulation and exchange of fluids within the disc.
